Advisory Regarding Admission to Medical Faculties in the Egyptian Universities

  1. 1. Medical Education Consultancies:

Many education consultancies and firms advising students on the admission process to medical faculties in Egyptian universities have come to the Embassy’s attention, as some assurances being made are not fulfilled. These include security clearance arrangements, accommodation, assistance with visa documentation and renewals, placement in top universities, and other related services. Indian students wishing to pursue higher education in Egypt are advised to review the FAQs on the Mission’s website or visit the official websites of Egyptian universities or the Study in Egypt portal (https://admission.study-in-egypt.gov.eg) to obtain accurate and reliable information.

  1. 2. Student Visa

Indian students studying in Egypt are advised to renew or extend their visas well before expiry. Overstaying without a valid visa is illegal and may lead to fines, detention, or arrest by Egyptian authorities.

  1. 3. Internship Fee

As per the new guidelines of the National Medical Commission, dated 18 November 2021, Indian students studying medicine abroad must complete their internship in the same foreign medical institution. In Egypt, the internship lasts 2 years, and students are required to pay the full tuition fee of about US$6,000 per year during this period. Students are advised to carefully assess internship rules, total expenses, and future licensing requirements before taking admission in Egypt.
