DOING BUSINESS IN EGYPT

The size of the Egyptian economy (GDP) is approximately US$430 billion in 2025.  Egypt is the third-largest economy in the African region and has been strengthening its position through political stability, steady economic growth, and a large domestic market of more than 110 million people. The government has been actively accelerating industrial growth, infrastructure development, and expansion across key economic sectors, creating significant opportunities for international companies.

Egypt’s GDP growth rate is estimated at about 3.5% in 2025. Growth slowed during the foreign exchange crisis and global economic shocks, but it has begun to recover due to economic reforms, stabilization of the currency, improved foreign investment inflows, and support from international financial institutions.

Its strategic location along the Suez Canal gives it an advantage in global trade. Egypt has also signed multiple free trade agreements (COMESA, GAFTA, Egypt-EU FTA, Turkey-Egypt FTA,  Qualifying Industrial Zone with USA, Africa Continental FTA and MERCOSUR, Agadir FTA among Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Jordan), strengthening its position as a gateway for international investors seeking access to regional markets.
