Strong Indian Participation at Pharmaconex 2026 Highlights India-Egypt Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Sector

Reflecting the strong partnership and collaboration between India and Egypt in the field of Healthcare and pharmaceuticals, 92 Indian pharmaceutical companies participated in Pharmaconex Expo 2026, one of Egypt’s leading exhibitions for the pharmaceutical industry.  This large presence reflects the desire and opportunities for expanding bilateral partnerships and cooperation in this critical sector.

India, widely recognised as the “Pharmacy of the World,” is a major global hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and exports, with Indian medicines and pharmaceutical products reaching markets across the world. Indian pharmaceutical companies have also developed a significant presence in Egypt and have been working closely with Egyptian partners in areas including manufacturing, technology transfer, joint production and market development.

The participation of such a large number of Indian companies at Pharmaconex 2026 provides an important platform for Indian and Egyptian pharmaceutical companies to explore new business opportunities, establish partnerships, expand market access and enhance cooperation in areas such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer, research and development, innovation and resilient supply chains.

India-Egypt cooperation in the vaccine sector is a story of success with technology partnershipa between  Serum Institute of India and Vacsera; Zydus Lifescience and ZenVax; and BiologicalE with Gypto Pharma through which technology transfer supported the development of vaccine production capabilities in Egypt. Such partnerships demonstrate the considerable potential for India and Egypt to work together to strengthen local manufacturing capacities and build resilient healthcare and pharmaceutical supply chains.

The Embassy of India in Cairo remains committed to facilitating greater interaction between Indian and Egyptian businesses and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
