2nd India-Africa Seed Summit 2026

This summit is a flagship initiative of the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) and is being organised in partnership with leading institutions including the African Seed Trade Association (AFSTA), ICRISAT, Federation of Seed Industry of India (FSII), GIZ, World Bank, Seedsmen Association, Seed Trade Association of Kenya (STAK) and with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Telangana, besides several other national and international organisations.

2.     The Summit will bring together Government representatives, policymakers, research institutions, seed companies, development partners, investors and trade representatives from India and across Africa, creating a unique platform for dialogue, business linkages, technology exchange and strategic partnerships. At its core, the Summit seeks to strengthen India-Africa cooperation and trade in the seed sector and contribute to Africa’s long-term food security by fostering resilient seed systems, technology and knowledge exchange, market access, innovation, capacity building and investment partnerships.
   
   
3. Seed systems are fundamental to food security, agricultural productivity and climate resilience. Strengthening India-Africa cooperation in seed research, technology transfer, capacity building, regulation, trade and investment can help build resilient and self-sustaining agricultural systems. With India’s growing seed industry and strong agricultural research ecosystem, alongside Africa’s significant potential for innovation and market development, such collaboration can serve as a vital avenue for advancing South-South cooperation and shared food-security objectives.
