The Centre organizes India By the Nile (IBN) – A festival of India in Egypt celebrated every year. India by the Nile brings the essence of India through classical, contemporary, performing and visual arts, food and popular culture in a language which amalgamates diverse cultural and artistic strands. The festival is produced by Delhi based M/S Teamwork Arts and supported by ICCR and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

The sixth edition of the ‘IBN’, was held in March 2018. The IBN has become the most popular festivals organized by any Embassies in Egypt. Over 10,000 Egyptians from different walks of life participated directly in the various events of the festival in 2018, which included Music Concerts by the legendary Musician Ustad Amjad Ali Khan at Arab Music Institute, Cairo and Sayed Darwish Theatre, Alexandria. Sufi Fusion Concert by Kabir Café was held at Ain Shams University, Cairo, El Sawy Culture Wheel, Cairo and Cultural Center, Port Said., ‘Thari - The Loom,’ by  Malavika Sarukkai’s was performed at Sayed Darwish Theatre, Alexandria and El Gomhoureya Theatre, Cairo. Indian Food Festival was inaugurated at Semiramis InterContinental Hotel, Cairo.  “Bollywood Dance Workshop” was conducted at six venues. Indian Fashion Show was held at India House on 17/3/18 by the Indian Fashion Designer Tarun Tahiliani. A delegation of Experts in Ayurveda and Yoga sent by the Ministry of AYUSH made seminars on related topics and demonstrations of Yoga at seven different venues. There were three seminars held as part of IBN 1) India Tea Seminar 2) on India Egypt Economic Engagement - Poised for Transformation and 3) on Practicing Yoga – The Right Way.
The 7th edition of India by the Nile is scheduled to be held during 7-17 of March 2019. For details Click here
