International Day of Yoga

The 10th edition of the International Day of Yoga organized by the Maulana Azad Center for Indian Culture, Embassy of India, Cairo on 21 June 2024 at Al-Horreya Park, Zamalek, Cairo. This year’s celebration was marked by a series of curtain raiser Yoga events across Egypt, including in Luxor, Hurghada, Alexandria, Minya, and Ismailia.  The Yoga events were attended by thousands of Egyptian Yoga enthusiasts and friends of India. 

Mission organized a "Yoga at Iconic Place" contest, in which Egyptians participated enthusiastically. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi highlighted the growing popularity of Yoga in Egypt during the IDY 2024 celebrations in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, on 21 June 2024. He specifically referred to #YogaAtIconicPlace contest and appreciated young Egyptian men and women  for sharing Yoga poses at famous tourist locations like Pyramids.
