International Day Of Yoga 2018

 

The United Nations has declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. The resolution for IDY was presented by India and co-sponsored by 177 countries. MACIC, under the Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Egyptian government has been celebrating IDY since 2015 by organizing several events in Cairo and other cities in Egypt.

Why Yoga?

Yoga is an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between the body and the mind. It is an art and science for healthy living. The aim of yoga is to overcome all kinds of sufferings that lead to a sense of freedom in every walk of life with holistic health, happiness and harmony.

 

Our state of mind highly influences the quality of work, productivity and interpersonal skills. Yoga is a time tested practice that cultivates and strengthens the mental and physical health.

As part of celebration of IDY 2018, the Embassy of India in Cairo, will be organizing special events in three cities of Egypt as detailed below:

21st June 2018, 5 pm @ Elhoraiya Park Near Cairo Opera House, Cairo.

22nd June 2018, 5 pm @ Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria.

23rd June 2018, 5 pm @ CHP Ground (Nadi-El-Mawani), Ismailia.


The events are expected to be attended by a number of distinguished personalities from all walks of the life along with hundreds of Yoga practitioners from different parts of Egypt.

 

The Embassy of India cordially invites all to be a part of the celebration of 4th International Day of Yoga in Egypt.


Yoga Courses & Workshops at MACIC

 

Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC) was set up as a cultural wing under Embassy of India at Cairo, to promote cultural cooperation between the two countries.

 

MACIC offers regular yoga courses in its premises at Zamalek. Each course is designed for a duration of 20 hours spread over 10 weeks.

The Centre also offers free workshops for educational institutions, Clubs, NGOs, and Corporates etc. If you are interested in organizing a free workshop of 60-90 minutes, in your organization, you are always welcome to contact us.
