Visit of Kathak Dance Troupe led by Ms. Luna Poddar : A nine-member ICCR sponsored Kathak dance Troupe led by Ms. Luna Poddar visited Egypt from 14 – 19 August 2022. This was the first visit by a cultural troupe from India in about 7 months. Apart from performing at Independence Day function organized by the Embassy at India House, the troupe also performed at Anfoushy Cultural Palace in Alexandira and Port Said Cultural Palace in Port Said on 16 and 17 August 2022 respectively. The troupe also participated and performed at the 30th ‘International Citadel Festival for Singing & Music’ on 18 August 2022 at Saladin Citadel, Cairo.


Visit of Qawwali Group led by Mr Syed Nasir Husain: A six-member ICCR sponsored Qawwali Group led by Mr Syed Nasir Husain visited Egypt from 16 – 25 September 2022 to participate and perform at the 15th International Festivals for Chanting and Spiritual Music (SAMAA) organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. Apart from India several other countries such as Canada, Algeria, Romania, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, Indonesia, Sudan, South Sudan, Jordan etc participated and performed. India was the Guest of Honour country at the festival.
