Advisory for Indian nationals travelling to Delhi and Lucknow on 29th May 2020 by special Air India repatriation flight AI 1970

Under phase II of Vande Bharat Mission, Government of India has decided to operate special Air India flight (AI 1970) from Cairo to Delhi and Lucknow in India, as of now, on 29th May 2020 (Friday) for stranded Indian citizens in Egypt.

2. In order to facilitate seamless ticketing through cash deposit in local currency, Air India has appointed a local cash collection and ticketing agency for this purpose. Details of collection agency is as under:

Cash collection hours: 10 AM to 1 PM

Owing to Ramadan holidays beginning 24th May 2020 (Sunday), cash collection at above mentioned agency is made available only on 22nd May 2020 (Friday) and 23rd May 2020 (Saturday).

3. Only passengers who have been approved for this flight need to bring their original passport (or copy of it) and deposit the airfare at the collection agency mentioned above. Passengers coming to deposit cash are advised to wear masks at all time. Passengers will be given cash receipt and the ticket will be sent by Air India after 2-3 days on the email ID registered with Embassy.

4. Where the approved passenger(s) is unable to come personally to deposit the ticketing money, their authorised nominee may do so with copy of passport of the passenger. The nominee should also carry his ID proof.

5. As communicated earlier, passengers will have to undergo 14 days mandatory quarantine on arrival in India at their own cost as per the protocols framed by the Government of India and follow other extant rules.
