Resumption of Tourist Visas w.e.f. 15.10.2021 for Group Tourists and 15.11.2021 for individual Tourists

In view of improved COVID-19 situation in India, Government of India has decided to commence issuing Tourist Visas. Further details on Tourist Visas are as follows:

  • Foreign nationals intending to visit India for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter into India on e-Tourist Visa/Tourist visa through chartered flights for group tourism only from 15th October, 2021.
  • All individual foreign nationals intending to travel to India for tourist purposes through Vande Bharat Mission, Air Bubble Scheme or by any scheduled/non-scheduled commercial flights as allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, would be permitted to enter India from 15th November 2021.
  • Travel of all such foreign nationals will be subject to protocols and norms relating to COVID-19 as notified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

2. All foreign nationals intending to visit India under group tourism will have to apply for fresh Tourist Visa. The existing/old valid e-Tourist Visa/Regular Visa will continue to remain suspended.

3. As per the above, foreign nationals desirous of visiting India on group tourism may apply for fresh Tourism Visa which is single entry visa and valid for 30 days.

4. First 5,00,000 visas (including travellers from all over the world) shall be issued for free.
