Advisory for OCI Cardholders

It may please be noted that as per the instructions of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, issued in April 2021, OCI cardholders shall have to get the OCI card reissued once a new passport is issued after completing 20 years of age. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic and to avoid inconvenience to OCI cardholders who are required to get their OCI cards re-issued, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has decided to further grant extension of time till 31.12.2022 to all eligible foreigners to get their OCI cards reissued.

2. It may also please be noted that subject to MHA’s existing guidelines regarding entry of OCI cardholders in India, such OCI cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI cards bearing old passport number with the condition that the OCI cardholder will have to travel along with new passport.
